As expected, the renovation did last until the end of January… well, the basement part will be more or less done.

Last weekend (8 days ago), we had built the stairs and they are still holding fine. All that’s left to do for them are covering the treads and risers with laminated floor. Actually one and a half steps is done already so 8 more to go! Of course, we will be instealling slip proof metal bars. Hopefully it will cover up the unsightly edges as well as prevent anyone from falling down and breaking their…

Anyway, it took whole day to actually finish the basement hallway. Whole day and a half. I can’t wait until we do the trimming tomorrow and reclaim my own sanctuary. I really need my own space… sigh. Though that study has no doors so it’s practially an open ground.

From last reno posting,

• Replace Doors for 3rd floor and basement (this weekend? - didn’t happen)
• Hallway and stairs in the basement (…this week or next month) done!…except for trims.
  
• Replace windows (late Jan if weather holds…) - not likely…
• Air duct cleaning - mid feb!
• Replace furnace (before cleaning the air duct?) - in summer?
• Paint the kitchen - slow and easy…
• Front and Back entrance wooden platforms - someday.
  
• Garage - hmm…

That’s just one item crossed out from a long list but considering the windows, replacing the furnace and air duct cleaning will be done by professionals–all I gotta do is provide $$, oh my!–that only leaves replacing doors our major priority…though it ‘could’ wait until this spring. (note to self, see if I need to pick up those doors from Home Hardware soon)
