I will probably write more but two anime series I have watched totally hit the spot.

Gad Guard is 26 ep. long by Gonzo… a mecha anime that’s quite refreshing. There is a hint of violence (okay… a bit more) but it’s definitely not for young kids as it discuss some philosophical stuff.

Heroic Age also had 26 ep…and it was awesome. Another mecha-ish though this one is set in space.
Neither of above had much recap going on and each episode, specially the Heroic Age, was very well done; each episode had a valid reason to be there.

It’s no surprise that there was a hint of romance/love-interest in both shows that kept me interested as well; it’s great to see well drawn female leads.

Rivalry as well played nicely as each anime’s nemesis was not some half baked nut. Definite watch!
