Easter ‘07 last-minute LAN Party

April 7th, 2007

It started with Karaoke on Thursday. Due to Good Friday, we –Sean (HS), Eric (HY) and Andrew (CS) and myself–didn’t get much bonus time at Yonge Karaoke. Afterwards, Romano joined us for dinner at Congee Wang. It was on the way to the Congee Wang what started the whole process.

Originally my cousin brought the Dragon Quest board game (see his blog) to play at my place afterwards; yet when we realized none of us ‘had’ to go to work next day, we decided a full blown korean-BBQ party was in order. So we went to Andrew’s place to pick up the electric grill (sans meat since it had been consumed already), StarCraft game and some laptops.

Back at my place, there we were, five of us. We rounded up all the available PC, lowered the router and set up a wireless LAN. Took 2~3 hours to actually install all the stuff but we got few games going. Of course, Romano and I had never played so Andrew got frustrated but we at least won once…out of 5+ games.

Around 6 AM, we fall asleep on the floor and managed to get 3~4 hours of sleep. (NOTE: we may need some carpet or something for basement floor when people fall asleep on it…like a sleeping bag. Yes, bring your sleeping bag next time, people!) While Sean went back to get changed and wash his hair (without showering, from what I hear), rest of us–Michelle, Andrew, Eric and myself–went to Korea town and bought necessary ingredients: bacon, perilla leaf, lettuce, spice sauce.

I think we ended up eating around 3 pm but it was good. Fattening but GOOD. I will post the picture/movie up when I get one from Sean but needless to say, it was one of the awesomest Thursday/Friday. The fact that next day was a Saturday probably helped too.

Jin out.

So which lan game should we use next time? I think either we level up in StarCraft all together OR we better choose one where everyone’s skillset starts off similar… like DotA or that Gundam game?
